Window

1. Name Field for the KEYSAFE destination.
2. ... This button open a dialog to select a directory for your KEYSAFE.
3. Open in Read-only mode If this option is activated, the KEYSAFE can open in the Read-only modus only. In this case changes are not possible.

  This option is only after the creation of KEYSAFE available. Write-protected KEWYSAFEs are yellow.
4. Add / Accept Create a new KEYSAFE or accepts the changes.

Tutorial

Create a new CRYPTDRIVE

1. Open Settings dialog
 Open in the Settings dialog the side Keysafe Management.
2. Encryption settings

Select as the Default Encryption ALG the desired encryption algorithm.
In case of the SYMM-System (for home-user) the access authorization is managed by a password, debit card or USB stick. In case of the HYBRID-System the access authorization  is managed by X.509 certificates.
3. Create New
 With the button Add the following options dialog open.

It is possible to define the following properties of the new KEYSAFE:

  • Name: Name of KEYSAFE
  • Location: With ... you can select a directory, where the KEYSAFE will be saves.
  • Read-only mode: Protection against changes
Add create the new KEYSAFE and close the dialog.

  In the test phase of the software, the number of entries is limited to 5.
5. Enter Password
 Depending on the settings you must now enter a new password (SYMM-System), insert a USB stick (SYMM-System) or enter the PIN for the certificate (HYBRID-system).
6. Open
 There are three ways to open a KEYSAFE: 

In the settings dialog on the homepage about the SchlüsselsymbolIm settings dialog on the page regarding their management of the menu or by double-clicking the right mouse button.
Under My Documents -> abylonsoft -> offers regarding their attitudes dialogue on the appropriate icon.

  1. In the Setting dialog on the site Keysafe Main about the key symbol
  2. In the Setting dialog on the site Keysafe Management with double-click or the right mouse button menu.
  3. Under My Documents -> abylonsoft -> abylon KEYSAF with the appropriate icon.
7. Importing / Editing
 With Import you can load existing KEYSAFEs.
About Edit the settings of the selected KEYSAFE can be changed.
8. HYBRID-System 

  In certificate-based KEYSAFEs (HYBRID-System) you must own a certificate smart card or the software certificate must be installed on your computer.
In the abylon CERTMANAGER the KEYSAFE are listed. By Copying, Pasting and Deleting certificates can be managed.
