Protect your data
Unencrypted data is an easy target for unauthorized persons. But the software abylon CRYPTDRIVE offer a simple procedure to protect your documents, videos, photos and programs. Therefore create the software encrypted container, using the international algorithm standards AES (256 bit) or Blowfish (448 bit). 

Easy to use
To open your encrypted CRYPTDRIVE you can enter a password via the keyboard, or use a smart card, CD/DVD or a removable media (e. g. memory stick). Only with correct authentifikation the CRYPTDRIVE is displayed in the File Explorer as drive and the access to the encrypted data is possible. The encryption and decryption of your files works automatically in the background. In a company environment the access authorizations can be also administered using X.509-certificates, whereas a lot of certificates, smart cards or token are supported by abylon CRYPTDRIVE.

Features:

Window

1. Name Here you can declare the name for the virtual drive, which is indicated in the File Explorer.
2. Driveletter Define the Letter, that is indicate in the File Explorer.
3. Size (MB) Input field for the size of the drive in MB (tested up to 128 GB). 

  The size can be specified only while creating a drive and before the registration it is restricted to 100 MB.

4. Partials Number of the parts in which the Image file is split-up on the hard disk.

  This is necessary because the maximum size of a file is restricted up to 2 and/or 4 GB.

  The splitting of the image-file performance the backup!
5. ... This button open a dialog to select a new directory for your image file.
6. Open own explorer window The open CRYPTDRIVE is show in a new windows explorer dialog.
7. Add / Accept Save the new values and close this dialog.

Tutorial

Create a new CRYPTDRIVE

1. Open Settings dialog

Öffnen Sie im Einstellungsdialog die Seite CryptDrive.
2. Default Encryption ALG On the site Cryptdrive settings can be set the encryption algorithm for a new CRYPTDRIVE. The access authorization when SYMM-System (for home-user) is recommended using your password or secret (eg, debit card or USB stick) and the HYBRID-System (for companies) by X.509 certificates.
3. Creating a new CRYPTDRIVE

The creation of a new SHAREDDRIVE made in the settings dialog with the following buttons:

Following open the Options dialog to change or create a CRYPTDRIVE.

 

4. Options Dialog

Following settings for the new drive are possible:

  • Name: Drive name
  • Größe: the size in MByte
  • drive letter: The drive letter, which is shown in the File Explorer
  • storage location: With ... the directory will be choosen in which the drive will be stored (Network UNC-Path!)
  • Patitials: Quantity of the files in which the drive will be divided
With Add the dialog will close and the new drive will be add to the list.

  In the 30 days test phase of this software only one drive can be created and the maximum size of the drive is limited to 500 MByte. In the licensed version is it possible to create up to 10 drives with a nearly unlimited size (500 GB tested).
5. Enter Password The new CRYPTDRIVE is now listed in the Settings dialog. You will be asked to open the new CRYPTDRIVE directly. Depending on the settings you must now enter a new password (SYMM-System), insert a USB stick (SYMM-System) or enter the PIN for the certificate (HYBRID-system).
6. Format
During the first opening the drive will be formated. Depending on the size of the drive the format process takes up to several hours.
7. Close In the Setting dialog with Close the selected CRYPTDRIVE will be close and the drive-letter also remove in the File Explorer. Therefore unauthorized access to encrypted files is no longer possible.
8. Importing / Editing With Import you can load existing CRYPTDRIVEs.
About Edit the settings of the selected CRYPTDRIVE can be changed.
9. HYBRID-System

  In certificate-based CRYPTDRIVEs (HYBRID-System) you must own a certificate smart card or the software certificate must be installed on your computer.
In the abylon CERTMANAGER the CRYPTDRIVE are listed. By Copying, Pasting and Deleting certificates can be managed.

Saving encrypted files

1. Setting dialog Open the setting dialog and switch to site Cryptdrive Management.
2. Open There are three ways to open a CRYPTDRIVE:
  1. In the Setting dialog on site Cryptdrive Management with button  Open or with double-click.
  2. Under My document -> abylonsoft -> abylon CRYPTDRIVE over the corresponding icon.
  3. About the Link-Icons on the desctop. 

    The Link-Icons can be create in the Setting dialog on site Cryptdrive Management with button  Create desktop shortcut.
3. Enter Password Input of the "Secret" (password, PIN, chipcard, CD/DVD or USB-Tocken)
4. File Explorer The encrypted drive will be opened in a new File Explorer.
5. Work Now you can create, save and copy and copy files as usual. The encryption of data occurs automatically in the background, without any additional operation by the user.
6. Close There are three ways to close a CRYPTDRIVE:
  1. In the Setting dialog on site Cryptdrive Management with button  Close.
  2. Under My Documents -> abylonsoft -> abylon CRYPTDRIVE over the corresponding Icon.
  3. About the Link- Icons on the desktop.
