Tutorial

The asymmetrical encryption (HYBRID-System) is based on the use of X.509 certificates with a public and private key pair (PKCS). The public key is stored in your PKCS#7-certificate (CRT file) and your private key is stored together with your public key in your PKCS#12-certifiicate (PFX file). The asymmetric module (HYBRID-System) of the abylonsoft software need your public key to encrypted or verify and your private key to decrypt or sign your data.

Create your own certificate

The certificates, which are created by abylon SELFCERT are just self signed and for private usage only. These certificates are not authentic, i.e. they are not confirmed by a public certification authority (CA). For an authentic certificate please contact a public authority (CA), for example TC Trustcenter or D-Trust

5. Store PFX-file The created certificate is stored as a PFX-File. Save this file for unauthorized access make a backup copy at floppy disc.

In case of reinstallation of your computer, a hard system crash an inadvertent deletion of the certificate your data can be decrypt only with the original certificate. The creating of a certificate with the same specifications does not help, because the corresponding keys are generated by intern random numbers.
