CRYPT-ASSISTENT

The abylon CRYPT-ASSISTANT is called over the context menu of the File Explorer (Menu of the right mouse button, see crypt plugin) and helps you step by step to sign and / or encrypt files. Alternatively the abylon CRYPT ASSISTANT starts, when files drop onto the program icon.
You can set the individual options on the following pages:

File list

This page show all files in the list with which the Crypt-operation are executed!

Crypt-Operation (To create)

On this page you can select the Crypt operation.

  This Page is only shown if you have selected several or no Crypt files!

1. Help Open the help!
2. Crypt operation Show the selected page Crypt operation.
3. Encrypting (abylon SYMM CRYPT) Encryption of all selected files with password and/or another secret (e.g. 'EC MoneyCard' (with chip), 'Health Insurance Cards' or USB-Stick). 
4. Encrypting (abylon HYBRID CRYPT) Encryption of all selected files with your encryption certificate (public key).
5. Sign All selected files are signed with your signature-certificate (Private key) in digital form.
6. Sign and Encrypting All selected files are signed first with your signature-certificate (Private key) and encrypted then directly with one or several Public Keys (only HYBRID-System). Through that the digital envelope files (SME-files = secure message envelope) are optimally prepared to send over unsafe channels (Email, Internet).
7. Compressing file(s) In the case of activation all files are archived in a compressed ZIP file.

Crypt-Operation (Open)

On this page you can select the Crypt operation.

  This Page is only shown if you have selected Crypt files!

3. Open Verifies and / or decrypted the selected file temporary and opens it with that according program (for example DOC files with MS Word).

  The Crypt files will be updated only in the case of modifications.

4. Verify / Decrypting Verifies and / or decrypt the selected file.
5. Verify / Decrypting and unpack If a compressed Crypt-file selected, after the verifying and / or decrypting the corresponding ZIP file will be unpack.

Certificate

On this page you can select the certificates (Public keys) of all recipients for which the files are encrypted.

  This page is only shown if the Crypt-operation Signing and encrypting were selected!

2. Certificate Show the selected page certificate.
3. Select Opening of the abylon CERTMANAGER to select the certificates.
4. Add Opening of the abylon CERTMANAGER to select the certificates.
5. Remove Deleting of the selected certificates.
6. Info Displays of the certificate information.
7. Certification list List of all certificates with which the files are encrypted.
8. Send as Email In the case of activation the SME file (Crypt operation Signing and Encrypting) is transmitted directly onto your email program.

Target folder

On this page you can define the target directory where the Crypt-files are stored.

  This page is only shown, if the necessity to select a target directory

1. Help Open the help!
2. Target directory Show the selected page target directory.
3. Directory Own Files Display of the directory Documents and attitudes.
4. Source Directory Display of the directory, where the source files are stored.
5. Individual Directory Display of the last individually chosen directory. Over the button Select a new directory can be chosen.
6. File name In this field you can define the wanted file name! The filename extensions are set according to the selected Crypt operation.

  This Point is only indicated if you have activated the point Compress file(s) on page Crypt operations!

Delete of source files

On this page you can define the overwrite level.

  This page is only indicated if the source file can be deleted!

1. Help Open the help!
2. Delete Source file Show the page Delete of source files.
3. Delete original files With activation of this point the original files are deleted after successful Crypt operation.

  EXCEPT: Only in case of files (Singing and encrypting in one step) the original files are deleted, if you are the owner of the corresponding private key!
4. Wipe-level With the slider the level of the delete operation can be defined. Six levels are offered, from simple deletion up to the Peter Gutman method (35x overwrite).
