List of all possible options:

  • Clear History
Activate this checkbox, if you want to reset / delete your history list. The history list contains all visited pages.
  • Reset INDEX.DAT for complete history
In the file INDEX.DAT the Internet-Explorer or File Explorer save for example information about visited sides or cookies. After the official deleting process you can find secret information in this file on the hard-disc. All the time this file is in use and therefore it can't delete without system-boot normally. The abylon SHREDDER close all references before wiping this file. In order to avoid problems, you should close all open software (Explorer and Outlook) before. The File Explorer will be reset automatically after wiping the INDEX.DAT.
  • Remove Cookies
Activate this checkbox, if you want to remove all Cookies from your computer. Cookies are saved by some internet pages to keep data for your next visit.
  • Clear Cache
Activate this checkbox, if you want to reset / delete / destroy your hole internet cache. The visited internet sites will be saved in the cache directory from Internet Explorer. If you visit the same page again, the data must not be transfer again and the site can be displayed faster. The problem is, everyone can see these files and which sides were visited. An other way is, to change your internet cache to our encrypted virtual drive. This drive can be locked after your internet connection and nobody can see, which pages you are visited.
  • Remove Form data (not Opera)
Optional the browser save all form data. At the next visit of the same internet page the browser fills in the data automatically in the correct fields.
  • Remove Login information and Passwords
Optionally the browser save all user names and passwords. They are inserted automatically until the next visit of the web page.
  • Clear Download-list
The download-list contains all files downloaded from the web.
4. Wipe-level The wipe-level can be defined with the slide control:
  • Level 0
Remove the links (correspond to the normal deletion in the File Explorer)
  • Level 1
Overwrite the data 1 times  (Binary Zeros)
  • Level 2
    Overwrite the data 3 times (DOD - Standard = 1. Random Numbers + 2. Binary F + 3. Binary Zeros)
  • Level 3
    Overwrite the data 7 times (DOD II - Standard = 3x Binary Zeros +  3xBinary F + 1x Random Numbers)
  • Level 4
Overwrite the data 13 times (3x Random Numbers + DOD - II + 2x Random Numbers + 1x Binary Zeros)
  • Level 5
Overwrite the data 35 times (Peter Gutman Method - Description see document)

A higher wipe-level is safer but needs more time.

5. Close window after wipe file(s) In the case of selection the window is closed directly after the wipe operation was successful.
