Common setting-page for design, language and note dialogs. Also on this side the settings can be imported and exported.

  According to program version individual properties can be missing or varying!

Settings pages

Export Settings Export all important program settings on an external file, to apply to other computers or just backup for new operating system installation.

  The X.509 certificates in the windows certificate data base can not be stored in the XML-file.
Import Settings Import all important program settings from an external file. NOTE: These operation overwrites the current program settings!

  The X.509 software certificates must be installed separately.
TIP The XML-file can also stored in the CTRL-directory of the program folder. The software import these settings automatically.
Advanced Settings Here you get into the advanced settings. This includes a list of important questions - dialogues or the current program language.
Shredder-Level Here you specify the wipe level to destroy files for general operations. This wipe level is applied, for example when you move or destroy the files. Please choose your level below.
  • Level 0
    Remove the links (correspond to the normal deletion in the File Explorer)
  • Level 1
    Overwrite the data 1 times (Binary Zeros)
  • Level 2
    Overwrite the data 3 times (DOD - Standard = 1. Random Numbers + 2. Binary F + 3. Binary Zeros)
  • Level 3
    Overwrite the data 7 times (DOD II - Standard = 3x Binary Zeros + 3x Binary F + 1x Random Numbers)
  • Level 4
    Overwrite the data 13 times (3x Random Numbers + DOD - II + 2x Random Numbers + 1x Binary Zeros)
  • Level 5
    Overwrite the data 35 times (Peter Gutman Method - Description see document)

  A higher wipe-level is safer but needs more time.
This slide control is disable in version abylon SHREDDER. In this software the module abylon PASTE use the wipe-level for files.

3. Message boxes List of all program messages, which can be deactivate by Show dialog again!
4. Language Selection of the indicated language. At this time following languages are offered:

  • German
