1. Side selection of the abylon SHREDDER Next sites are available in the abylon SHREDDER:
2. Add Open the select file dialog and the selected files are added to list 8.
3. Remove Remove the selected files from list 8.
Reset Reset list 8 and remove all entries.
4. Open Open the selected file 8 with the appropriate program.
5. Temporary files Search the temporary files and list 8 them for the wipe operation.
6. Empty Recycle Bin Deletes the contents of all recycle bins irrevocable.
7. File list Display all files, that will be wiped on click the button Wipe file(s)
8. Wipe-level The wipe-level can be defined with the slide control:
  • Level 0
    Remove the links (correspond to the normal deletion in the File Explorer)
  • Level 1
    Overwrite the data 1 times (Binary Zeros)
  • Level 2
    Overwrite the data 3 times (DOD - Standard = 1. Random Numbers + 2. Binary F + 3. Binary Zeros)
  • Level 3
    Overwrite the data 7 times (DOD II - Standard = 3x Binary Zeros +  3x Binary F + 1x Random Numbers)
  • Level 4
    Overwrite the data 13 times (3x Random Numbers + DOD - II + 2x Random Numbers + 1x Binary Zeros)
  • Level 5
    Overwrite the data 35 times (Peter Gutman Method - Description see document)

  A higher wipe-level is safer but needs more time.

9. Close program after wipe file(s) In the case of selection the window is closed directly after the wipe operation was successful.
10. Wipe fastmode Fast wiping of header information from large files. In this case 10 percent of the beginning and the end of the file are deleted, whereby you can saving up to 80 percent of time. Files smaller 10 MB are wiping complete also in the fastmode.
11. Wipe file(s) Click this button, to start the wipe file process 8 for your selected files and directories.
