Installing apps in the newer Windows versions is becoming more and more complicated. Microsoft wants only software signed by them for a fee to be installed under Windows. Actually, this is exactly the advantage of Windows over Apple, for example.
In this tutorial we describe how apps from abylonsoft can be downloaded and installed with the Edge browser. If you encounter problems with the download under Edge, you should definitely use an alternative browser (e.g. Google Chrome, Firefox, Brave or others). This usually makes downloading setups much easier, because these browsers do not generally block unknown software. The images used in the tutorial are screenshots of Microsoft Edge. For other browsers, the icons or their positions may differ, and messages may have different wording.

First of all, open Microsoft's Edge browser and go to the desired download page. There you will see the recommended setup for your operating system. The download of the setup starts by clicking the Download for free download button.
At the top right of the Edge browser, the download is displayed.
If the Edge browser blocks the download, you must click Show more.
The Edge browser reports that the setup download has been blocked and may cause damage to the PC.
In this case, move the mouse over the message. A trash can icon and three dots for a menu will be displayed. Via the menu you open the menu item Keep!
Now the SmartScreen of Microsoft Defender opens and also reports that this app is rarely downloaded and can possibly cause damage to the PC. Here you have to click on Show more.
2 more items show up, of which the Keep menu item is clicked.
Now the download of the abylonsoft app starts. This is again displayed at the top right under the download icon. Subsequently, the setup is started with Open file.
This will cause a Windows warning message to appear one more time. The Microsoft Defender SmartScreen prevents the setup from being executed. The More information link must be clicked again.
This displays information about the setup and the Execute button. Exactly this button must now be pressed.
Next, the User Account Control message will appear. Please confirm with Yes so that the setup is installed. The installation will of course make changes to the computer, but these are unproblematic or due to the function.

Now the setup of the abylonsoft software starts. Select the desired language and confirm with OK.
Finally, the setup starts, which guides you through the installation point by point.
Despite the many hurdles built in by Microsoft, abylonsoft software is now installed and can be used as usual.

It may be necessary to switch to the extended view (with administration rights) via the shield icon beforehand.
Now the registration data sent by email (name and license code) are entered and the software is activated with "Activate".
