Many camera manufacturers and graphics programs store additional information in EXIF format in created images and captured photos. This meta data includes camera model and serial number, comments, copyrights, chamber settings, editing programs, thumbnails or GPS coordinates. If I save a JPG file (with EXIF info) as a PNG file, then save the PNG file as a JPG file, will the final JPG file be essentially the same as what EXIF-CLEANER produces?
Also, I know that when saving a file as a JPG file, the quality setting can affect what degradation occurs. Does EXIF-CLEANER result file have any image quality degradation?
Correct. Caching as PNG usually removes the EXIF information. I can definitely say this about the Paint.net program. Whether there are exceptions with other graphics programs, I can not guarantee.
Deleting the EXIF information with the software abylon EXIF-CLEANER does not change the image resolution.
