Column I 7 entries

IDEA

With symmetric encryption IDEA (Internatial Data Encryption Algorythm) the data is encrypted in 16 passes by swapping and replacing single bits with a 128 bit key in the same way as with the DES procedure.

ISO 7816-1,2

The standard of the International Organization for Standardization defines the physical parameters of a smart card. These include, among other things, the dimensions of the plastic card and the position of contacts (chip or magnetic strip). The international standard was published in 1999 and amended in 2004 and 2007.

ISO 7816-3

The standard of international organization for standardization defines the file organization, security structure and the structure of data on smart cards. This also includes command structures (APDUs) and commands. The international standard was published in 1994 and revised in 2005 and 2013.

ISO 7816-4

The standard of the International Organization for Standardization defines the file organization, security structure and the structure of data on smart cards. This also includes command structures (APDUs) and commands. The international standard was published in 1994 and revised in 2005 and 2013.

ISO 7816-5

The standard of the International Organization for Standardization allows the unique identification of applications on smart cards with the so-called AID. The international standard was published in 1994 and revised in 2004.

Intelligent memory chip cards

With intelligent memory cards, the memory is only accessible via a hardwired safety logic. These are used, for example, as debit cards or telephone cards, where small amounts of data have to be stored even without supply voltage. The data can be read out, but not changed.

  • EPROM: The data is permanently stored and can only be read.
  • EEPROM: The data cannot be changed, but can be deleted (e.g. by UV radiation).

Internet Traces

When surfing the Internet, traces remain on your computer that can be used to reconstruct your surfing behavior. Internet traces include Historylist (addresses of all web pages visited), Cookies (data temporarily stored on your computer by page operators), Cache (Internet pages temporarily stored on your computer to speed up page setup), Form data (Entered form data for auto-complete), Access data and passwords (Entered access data and passwords for auto-complete) and Download list (List of recently downloaded files). The software abylon SHREDDER helps even inexperienced users to delete the Internet tracks irretrievably. Here persistent or permanent cookies are considered, so-called EverCookies (German language).
